Parents of children with disabilities often say that one of their biggest sources of stress is that they don't have enough quality time for themselves. Parents' Night Out is a perfect way to eliminate some of this stress. It is a creative approach to the traditional drop-off respite program. On weekends, parents can drop off their children both with and without disabilities. While there, children will interact socially while participating in coordinated activities.
What Activities are offered?
Your child can enjoy activities such as crafts, movies, bowling, theme nights and various seasonal activities. Our trained staff provides your child with the support they need and encourages new friendship among participants. Check out the Upcoming Calendar.
Who is eligible to participate?
Your child is eligible to participate if he or she is registered with the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). Siblings who are over 5 years of age are also eligible. The program does not affect a DDD registrant's respite hours.
When & Where is the program offered?
In Warren, Sussex and Morris counties, PNO is offered weekly on a rotating basis, per county, on Friday evenings and/or Saturday afternoons. In order to participate, individuals between the ages of 5-21 must be registered with the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). Siblings over five years of age are also eligible to participate on a limited basis and must also be pre-registered. This program does not affect a DDD family’s respite hours.
